Greenblum & Bernstein, P.L.C. is pleased to announce that it obtained a unanimous jury verdict today in Padcom, Inc. v. NetMotion Wireless, Inc.

Padcom’s patents at issue, U.S. Pat. Nos. 6,418,324 and 6,826,405, were found to be infringed by NetMotion’s wireless roaming products and to be valid over prior art.  These patents were also found to have satisfied the enablement and written description requirements.

Padcom’s patents at issue cover technology at the core of Padcom’s TotalRoam® Mobile Data solutions, including TotalRoam® Mobile Virtual Network software, which enables roaming across multiple active different networks. The technology, primarily used now in the public safety and utilities industries, has potential broad applicability across many other industries as companies’ wireless data and dispatch needs continue to expand beyond the capacity of any one single network. Other Padcom patent applications are pending, including foreign applications.

Greenblum & Bernstein’s involvement in these patents dates to the mid 1990s when Greenblum & Bernstein first began prosecuting the patents.

The legal team who successfully represented Padcom at trial included Neil F. Greenblum, Jill M. Browning, Van C. Ernest, Benjamin P. Kota, and Rebecca A. Brown. Additionally, the legal team was supported by Wesley A. Nicolas, Dr. Donald V. Scaltrito, Orchid A. Rushenas, and Nina J. Jeng.
