Client Counseling, Licensing and Technology Transfer Practice Group

Greenblum & Bernstein has long had an active practice counseling clients in licensing their patents to economic advantage and in defending against third party licensing campaigns and assertions of patent infringement.

As a result, members of the client counseling, licensing and technology transfer practice group are experienced in negotiating and settling contested matters, as well as formulating mutually beneficial license arrangements in more cooperative settings.

The client counseling, licensing and technology transfer practice group's members include attorneys experienced in both litigation and prosecution. As a result, a range of legal, business, and technical issues are considered when advising clients who want to enhance and extract value from their patent portfolios. The group's efforts include strengthening, asserting, and licensing patent portfolios.

The group also has extensive experience in defending against assertions of patent infringement. Utilizing their understanding of patent prosecution practice, members of the group identify weaknesses in asserted patents and highlight such weaknesses during negotiations to improve clients' settlement positions.

Attorneys in the group are experienced in negotiating and drafting a wide spectrum of license agreements, including, for example, joint venture agreements, technology and patent transfer agreements, joint development agreements, settlement agreements, and software development agreements.
