Experience

Michael J. Fink joined the firm in 1988. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Fink was a Trial Attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice from 1984-1988, where he defended patent infringement suits brought against the United States. Mr. Fink received Special Achievement Awards from the Justice Department for three consecutive years for his "Sustained Superior Performance of Duty."

Practice Areas

Mr. Fink is a supervisor and a lead litigator in the litigation and trial practice group. Mr. Fink has extensive patent litigation experience, and has handled cases involving pharmaceuticals, medical imaging devices, flash memory devices, software, cameras, lenses, avionics, satellite systems, robotics, inspection systems, manufacturing equipment, compressors, connectors, and sporting equipment. Mr. Fink has also argued and prevailed on appeals to the U.S. Court of Appeal for the Federal Circuit. Mr. Fink regularly counsels clients regarding patent litigation, interference proceedings, licensing, and related matters.

Mr. Fink is also responsible for coordinating the firm's Patent Litigation Seminar, a lecture series tailored to introduce foreign patent trainees to patent litigation in the United States.
