Experience
William Pieprz joined the firm in 1989. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Pieprz served at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as an Examiner, where he was responsible for examining patent applications in the printing and typewriting arts. Mr. Pieprz was awarded a Bronze Medal for superior performance by the U.S. Department of Commerce.
In 1976, Mr. Pieprz served as a law clerk to the Honorable David J. Williamosky of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences. Mr. Pieprz was also detailed to the Patent Academy at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, serving as a lecturer and an instructor for mechanical and electrical Examiners. Mr. Pieprz additionally served on a detail to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office of Classification, as well as on a detail to the Office of Enrollment and Discipline, where he participated in formulating and grading the patent agent examination.
Practice Areas
Mr. Pieprz supervises patent application preparation and prosecution in the mechanical and electrical arts as a reviewing attorney in the firm's patent procurement practice group. As a reviewing attorney, he is responsible for training and reviewing the work of junior associates and patent agents in the mechanical and electrical arts. Mr. Pieprz is also responsible for training patent interns for clients and foreign law firms.
