Experience

John Preta joined the firm in 1999. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Preta served at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as an Examiner for approximately two years, where he was responsible for examining patent applications related to assembly, manufacturing, metalworking, and circuit-making technologies. Mr. Preta also has industry experience as an engineer at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for three years and at Times Microwave Systems for approximately eight years.

Practice Areas

Mr. Preta prepares and prosecutes patent applications in the mechanical and electromechanical arts as a member of the firm's patent procurement practice group. Mr. Preta additionally prepares infringement and validity opinions as a member of the firm's client counseling, licensing and technology transfer practice group. Mr. Preta assists the firm's litigation and trial practice group in pre-trial matters and appeals.
