Experience
Katrin Venter joined the firm in 2001. Prior to joining the firm, Dr. Venter worked at the Technical University of Darmstadt for approximately ten years as a research and teaching assistant in the Department of Renewable Materials. Dr. Venter's research was concentrated in the fields of cellulose and paper chemistry and resulted in several peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Venter also worked as a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Wood Science at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, researching bagasse lignin.
Practice Areas
Dr. Venter prepares and prosecutes patent applications in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical arts as a member of the firm's patent procurement practice group. Dr. Venter also provides technical assistance to the firm's client counseling, licensing and technology transfer practice group and the litigation and trial practice group.
