Essential Functions
Docket Clerk Position Summary:
- Review and process all incoming correspondence (fax, emails, USPS mail, courier, downloads from Clients’ websites, etc..)
- Docket files by entering due dates in the firm’s computerized system
- Docket daily mail, fax and e-mail received and papers filed in PTO
- Enter docket entries requested by Attorneys or Assistants
- Work with Attorneys to ensure all docket entries are entered and update
- Verify docket entries
- Verify daily docket lists and provide lists to appropriate parties
- Responsible for asking questions of the department supervisor if uncertain of what to docket for a file
Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Office experience with filing and data entry required. Minimum of 2-3 years of docketing experience in an Intellectual Property law environment preferred (trademark and foreign patent prosecution experience a plus)
Attention to detail and ability to budget time efficiently
Ability to work with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
Effective Written and verbal communication skills
Computer proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, MS Word) and database
Personable, articulate, punctual and professional
Ability to learn skills quickly
