Walter Schlapkohl joined the firm in 2007 as a Technical Advisor and attended law school in the evening. Over the years Walter advanced within the firm and became a shareholder in 2020. Walter has extensive experience advising clients in all phases of patent prosecution and supervises patent prosecution in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and chemical areas. Walter also advises clients on international portfolios, as well as FTO, infringement, and validity opinions. Before coming to G&B, Walter worked as a U.S. Patent Examiner for two years where he examined applications in the area of gene expression and cancer diagnostics.
