Miki Tomii joined the firm in 2025 as an IP Consultant and is responsible for Japanese client relations. Miki has significant experience representing Japanese clients in trademark prosecution all over the world, and representing US clients in trademark prosecution, oppositions and other disputes related not only to trademarks but to unfair competition and copyright matters in Japan. Her Japanese clients extended from start-ups to major semiconductor company, fashion brands and pharmaceutical companies. Her US clients also varied – giant IT technology companies and broadcasting groups to family-owned wineries. Fluent in English and Japanese, she is always a reliable and passionate advisor to her clients, both in Japan and the US, in planning and implementing their trademark strategies. She understands the importance of intercultural communication through her long career of working for international corporations in different sectors. Before joining the firm, Miki had been the head of the Trademark Division at Fukami Patent Office, which is one of the major IP firms in Japan.
