Steven Pollicoff is a shareholder in the firm and currently manages the Mechanical & Design Prosecution practice group.  Having extensive experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the mechanical and electro-mechanical arts, Steven advises clients, both domestically and abroad, on all aspects of patent prosecution including prosecution strategies and portfolio management.  He also has experience preparing infringement and validity opinions.

Steven is also a member of the firm’s Asian practice group and travels frequently to Japan working closely with clients on their U.S. portfolios and lecturing on U.S. patent law.

Steven’s primary areas of technical expertise include automotive, packaging, sporting goods, metal working, and printing technologies.

Prior to joining the firm, Steven served as a patent examiner at the USPTO in the area of packaging including packaging for medical devices, electronics, materials, tools, food, and consumer goods.  Steven now leverages that experience to advise clients and help them efficiently navigate the patenting process.

Steven earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.  During his time there he worked for an automotive manufacturer in the area of automatic transmissions and conducted research at the university in the area of material science as an undergraduate research assistant.
